We cruised down the Hudson River past that spectacular Manhattan skyline containing the Empire State Building, Chrysler Centre, the new One World Trade Centre (Freedom Centre), UN building and Trump Building and the list goes on and on! And of course past the Statue of Liberty, Yankee Stadium and continued on down to Harlem. A great two and a half hour Best of New York cruise with Circle Line Cruises!
Johnny wants me to mention that the Empire State Building was built 84 years ago and took only 1 year and 24 days to construct. Unbelievable considering the disadvantages of technology back then.
After lunch we then headed to Central Station and did a self tour there. That was really good and informative. There was a section there near the world famous oyster bar, where one person stands in the corner and another person stands diagonally. You face the corners, about 12m apart, and when you whisper into the corner of the wall the other person opposite can hear what you say as your voice somehow travels overhead across the dome! Fascinating! There was also a fabulous market there which was just mind blowing with everything imaginable to buy there.
We all had to meet later under the infamous clock where everyone in Manhattan meets.
Then we went to the Chrysler building to look at the beautiful architecture inside, then on to the Rockafella Building where we tried to get up to the observation deck and bar on sunset, but booked out unfortunately, so we had a couple of ales in the courtyard.
Huge day, with plenty of walking. Met on our 12th floor bar, couple of drinks, bite to eat and our earliest night to date - exhausted!

Sounds amazing, you'll be coming back fitter than ever with all the walking you are doing. But it isdn the best way to see things, isn't it. Love the photos. Love T & G xx
