Dropped our gear in the rooms and all jumped into the black car and headed to The Hamptons - like you do! Driving, driving, driving, driving! Stopped at Jones Beach had a look, a lot like our beaches here, and the biggest seagulls we've seen!
There was also a fantastic outdoor theatre area, in a great location, away from anything and they obviously get huge crowds as there was parking for thousands!
Had a bite to eat at a diner, which was huge - we should know this my now, and kept on going for another hour and a half to The Hamptons. Lovely big homes, much opulence and the beaches were beautiful. We put our Samfordite style on things and had a drink on the beach and had a wee frolick in the Atlantic!
We were there longer than we thought and had no chance of getting the cars back by the due time, so Mick arranged for us to drop them back in the morning no extra charge - great!
Well, John then had an experience of driving through Manhattan at about 7.30-8pm and it's always peak hour. Was pretty amazing and he just had to blow the car horn to fit in and say that he'd done it!
Finally got back to the hotel and Paul and Sandra had arrived by then too! Met them at the upstairs bar for a couple of quiet ones, had tea and all crashed - everyone pretty tired! What awaits us all here in the morning??

Hi Deb we saw the same gulls when we were in Canada and Alaska. We were told they were Pacific Gulls, they are ginormous! I thought they were Albatross' - don't know why! Well trip just seems to be getting better and better! Have you had. A favourite moment to date? Love T & G
