New York - Day 3

Well Daryl, Luanne, Steve and Helen had a 5am start to go to the live game of the Sharkies and Cowboys at the Australian Bar that we were at the other day. The rest of us had a sleep in and watched the game at a more respectable time of 11.30am after doing a bit of a shopping in Maceys - as you do!
As everyone would be aware, the poor old Sharkies we're certainly not on their game and the Cows had a a great win! We had a few ales and lunch there, of course, great atmosphere and met a few other Aussies, unfortunately they were sad Sharkies supporters,  then met the early risers at Central Park for our bike ride.
Have to say this was absolutely sensational! We  rode around for about 2 hours which covered approx 12kms. It's hard to describe how great this was! The activities going on were typical of New York 24/7. Baseball in the park, rowing  on the lakes, sunbathing in masses as no beaches, live music continually around the park the list goes on and on .... It was so great. Took the bikes back pretty tired, then headed to the subway to get to the restaurant district and had dinner in an Irish Pub and had some pretty good regular food and VEGIES!!!!
Caught our our Mexican dodgy bus back to the hotel and having a quiet glass of red before hitting the sack. Another great day here, covering plenty of miles! Good night Australia! Xx

  3. We are totally heRing you Vernon and Pam, we're starting to run out of steam! Weather has been really superb and apart from our ferry crossing day from Cape May to Lewes, we've had fantastically weather.
We were saying whilst riding through Central Park that you, Trish and Gary, would so love this. It was truly a great few hours. I think this trip is like being on a cruise boat - so long as you use the stairs and not the lifts, you can pretty much eat and drink what you like! We have walked so many kms we honestly don't feel like we've gained an ounce considering what we've eaten and drunk. It's really great. Loving it, and sleeping well now, just exhausted of a night! Love to all back home and so glad you're on this adventure with us xxoo
