Atlantic City

The 6 of us had a great game of golf at Brigantine Golf Club just out of Atlantic City.  Really wet course unfortunately, after the few heavy showers we got the day before. Had to do work before having fun though, so found a laundry on the way.  Whilst that was going around we had to stop into Mad Dogs Diner and have some grits! Pretty good tucker, friendly hometown service and an interesting place to boot. Obviously was Sept 11 here yesterday so a lot of coverage on the TV, services and flags flown half mast. So many homes have the American flag flying out the front, it's wonderful.
We've now said goodbye to Atlantic City and left its casinos behind us this morning. Funny, we think the casinos won more than us! Had fun trying though!
Drove about an hour to Cape May where we caught the ferry across part of the Atlantic to Lewes. The ferry holds about a hundred cars and all up takes about 90 minutes. Would have been a great trip if the weather was better, as it started storming! Fortunately the seas never became too swelly, just the rain, thunder and a bit of lightening! We shouldn't complain though as we've been really lucky weather wise. Making our way to Washington today to stay for the next 3 nights. Looking forward to it for sure and then on to New York! Sorry, below photos a little bit out of order!

  1. Hi guys, you have been lucky with the weather haven't you. Sometimes it's nice to have a bit of rain to cool things down! Also wouldn't be true golf would it without a bit of rain! Didn't realise Atlantic City had so many casinos, did think that sat with Las Vegas. Goes to show! Have a safe trip through to New York, looking forward top seeing what you get up to there!. Love T & G xx

  2. Can't believe your holiday is half over...sorry to remind you!! You have done so much though you must be very happy with your progress? I can see John is looking more relaxed on the ferry than I've seen him in ages, obviously the holiday is doing him some good, must be all those golf games he is winning? Good photos of the ferry ride, nothing like a little sail to help the blood pressure. Have fun in Washington, call in to the White House and say g'day to Barack Obama for me, I'm sure he'd be up for a game of golf too!! Love Pam and Vernon xxxx
