Off to Quebec City

I've missed a night here, so will try and catch up a bit.  We did a bit of driving and got to Brockville where we found a good little hotel at  which Anne was able to get a seniors discount on for us which included breakfast haha! We just had takeaway in the rooms and crashed early after a couple of wines! Needless to say, when we went to brekkie there were a few oldies around, but they gave John some info on where they'd been before around here, and where they were going.
We took off about 9am and down the road a bit, realised it was going to be Daryls birthday in Aus pretty soon, so had to get off the highway and celebrate, of course! Found a wonderfull little place called Morrisbridge and went down by the river where you could see America on the other side! Absolutely beautiful and we all said we could easily live here. We had a couple of beers and a CC and coke, a bit of a look around and then some lunch before we headed back on the highway towards Quebec. So in the space of 3 hours, we'd had breakfast, beers and lunch - woah!
Back on the highway again, we bypassed Montreal, a lot of road works going on there and a few people gave it the thumbs down? So, the guys had booked us into a B & B at a place on the river at Trois Rivieris called Auberge Gite Le Fleurvil. We found it quite easily and slipped into French style streets and homes. Just beautiful. We dropped our gear, had a drink around the pool, and went off to look at this lovely little town.
As those of you who have travelled into the province of Quebec, it's predominately French speaking, so all of the signs are in French of course too. Thank goodness for the Internet and English/French dictionary sites!
Had a good look around Trois Rivers, a drink in a bar, then on to our host Yves (male) recommended Italian place, for dinner, which was lovely - huge meals! All day we celebrated Daryl's Australian birthday, and then like Groundhog Day, it will happen all again tomorrow over here!
After brekkie we're heading into Quebec City for a couple of nights, which we're all looking forward to.
Don't know what happened with my pics as a bit out of order!

  4. Hi there we also went through Trios Rivers, beautiful little place. The river was covered in ice whilst we were there, just beautiful. We stopped at a place where they catch these little fish, big festival each year. Also stopped in to Wal-Mart, some great bargains. I juts love reading about where you are going. Brings back such great memories, so jealous! Everything in French is very different isn't it but makes you appreciate how great it would be to have a second language. Keep up the great work Deb and love to you and Johnny. Hope you enjoy Québec City as much as we did. Love T & G xxx
